Ceres Liner, or simply Ceres, is the only bus company directly serving the Cebu City to Dumaguete route. However, you may also take a Ceres bus from Cebu City to Bato via Oslob and a ferry from Bato Port or Liloan Port to Dumaguete. This will cost you a little more. Also, note that there are ferries from Cebu to Tagbilaran to Dumaguete.

The first trip from Cebu City to Dumaguete is at 5:00 AM, while the last trip is at 12 MN. Meanwhile, the first from Dumaguete to Cebu City is at 3:00 AM, while the last trip is at 10:30 PM.
Ceres buses bound for Dumaguete are stationed at Cebu South Bus Terminal (see map). To get there, you can either take a taxi or a modern jeepney with codes 01K or 02B. The buses bound for Dumaguete are in the C11 aisle. Ask bus drivers/conductors (usually in white uniforms) or superintendents (usually in yellow uniforms) where the Dumaguete-bound buses are.

The total travel time from Cebu City to Dumaguete is approximately 7 hours, including the ferry transfer from Liloan Port or Bato Port to Dumaguete. Do take into account the waiting at the terminals and at the port.

The best way to get from Cebu City to Dumaguete is to take a flight. Cebu Pacific has daily flights from Cebu-Mactan International Airport to Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport and vice versa. If flying is not an option, you can take a ferry from Cebu to Dumaguete. This takes approximately 4.5 hours.
