Cebu is home to some of the most popular waterfalls in the Philippines. Out of over 110 waterfalls here, we curated the Top 14 Best Falls in Cebu that we believe deserve a spot in your Cebu itinerary.
In this guide, we will walk you through how to get to these falls from Cebu City as well as where to stay near these tourist attractions. We will also add the updated entrance fees and the cost to get there.
Cebu waterfalls are not the tallest in the Philippines. Despite that, Cebu falls are some of the most beautiful. So it comes as no surprise that a lot of the must-visit falls in the Philippines are found in Cebu.
One distinct characteristic of the famous waterfalls in Cebu, especially the ones in the south, is its coral-blue water and clear plunge pool where you can chill.
Not only is it the highest fall in Cebu at 98 meters or 321.518 feet, but Mantayupan Falls is also the most picturesque waterfall in Cebu. From above, Mantayupan Falls looks like a hidden body of water enveloped in a lush green forest, a truly magnificent work of nature.
Kawasan Falls is the most well-known waterfall in Cebu, visited by thousands of foreign and local tourists throughout the year. It has at least three tiers, with the highest jump of 10 and 12 meters. If you are doing canyoneering, you will pass by these cliffs. The main tier of Kawasan Falls is the sweet end of all canyoneering activities along the Kanlaob River in Alegria that last for 4 hours.
Mantayupan Falls is the tallest of all waterfalls in Cebu. At 98 meters tall, this towering fall in Barangay Campangga in Barili makes visitors look like ants from afar. Also known as Ambakan Falls, Mantayupan Falls serves a critical role in Barili’s irrigation.
More than 100 waterfalls can be found in Cebu, excluding those that cannot be visited by tourists for safety reasons. Many of them are in South Cebu, particularly in towns like Alegria, Malabuyoc, Ginatilan, and Samboan.
There are so many falls to choose from. To give you an idea of the must-visit waterfalls in Cebu, here are the Top 14 Best Falls in Cebu:
Kawasan Falls is the most popular waterfall in Cebu, located in Barangay Matutinao, Badian. It has several tiers with various plunge pools where you can swim, chill, or jump from the cliffs.
A few steps from the fall’s main tier, you will find a couple of cliff-jumping spots. The highest jump at Kawasan Falls is 10 and 12 meters high. If you take the Kawasan Falls canyoneering, you will pass by these cliff-diving spots.
There are plenty of food stalls going to the fall’s main tier where you can buy fresh coconut, banana cue (fried plantains coated in brown sugar), camote cue (fried sweet potatoes coated in brown sugar), a variety of rice cakes, and other local delicacies. There are also souvenir shops selling beaded accessories and Kawasan-themed shirts.
The best time to visit Kawasan Falls is early morning when crowds have not arrived yet.

Kawasan Falls is located about 130 kilometers away from Cebu City. To get from Cebu City to Kawasan Falls, take a Ceres Liner bus at Cebu South Bus Terminal. Tell the driver/conductor to drop you off at the Kawasan Falls Bus Stop. The fare is about 250 PHP (~5 USD). The travel time is 3 hours.
From the bus stop, walk about 1.5 kilometers. The trek is fairly easy. The trail is mostly unpaved, but it’s clear enough to lead you to the falls without a guide. Check the exact location on Google Maps.
You may also hire a private vehicle to take you to Kawasan Falls from Cebu City or Mactan Airport. Book a Private Intercity Transfer here!

One of the most visited waterfalls in Cebu, Tumalog Falls cannot be missed if you are in Oslob for the whale shark watching activity or for a trip to Sumilon Island. The trek to the fall is pretty easy. As you reach the foot of the fall, you will be in awe of the sheer size of the fall—both its width and height.
Tumalog Falls is not too deep, making it perfect for kids and non-swimmers to take a dip into the coral-blue water. Beside the waterfall, there is a small boulder where most visitors take photos. Be careful though as it can get slippery.

Go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and take a Ceres Liner bus bound for Bato via Oslob. Tell the driver/conductor to drop you off at the intersection going to Tumalog Falls. The fare is about 250 PHP (~5 USD). Travel time is 3 hours.

Dao Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Cebu, standing at 120 meters, making it the second tallest in the province. Located in Barangay Suba, Dao Falls is the tallest and only one of the many waterfalls in Samboan that tourists may visit.
Sometimes spelled Dau Falls, the trek to Dao Falls is easy to moderate and takes about 20 minutes. However, there’s a part near the uppermost tier where your grip and leg strength will be tested. A lot of tourists complained about the irrelevance of tour guides. But based on my experience, I think they are necessary. Note also that during the rainy season, it might get too slippery along the way. These guides are there to guide you where to step.

Another popular waterfall in Samboan, Aguinid Falls is distinct for its multi-tier waterfall system that runs for a few kilometers along Tangbo River. Located in Barangay Tangbo, Aguinid Falls has at least 8 levels that take about 2-3 hours to complete.
The trek is not just any trek, though. Along the way, you will pass by various streams, mini-falls, and shallow plunge pools filled with coral-blue water. Aguinid Falls is definitely a must if you are in South Cebu. Do note that Wednesday is the cleaning day of the falls, so you will only be able to access 2 levels.

Cambais Falls has not been developed to the likes of Kawasan Falls, so the trek going to the falls might not be the easiest as there are no visible signages to lead visitors. Nevertheless, Cambais Falls is worth exploring if you just want to be surrounded by nature for the day.

Go to Cebu South Bus Terminal and take a Ceres Liner bus bound for Bato via Barili. Get off at Alegria town center. The fare is about 220 PHP (~5 USD). The travel time is 4 hours.

Having the same water source as Kawasan Falls and limestone gorges, the experience is almost the same. The difference? Wondefalls has not been on the radar of many tourists yet.
There will be 9 jumps overall. The highest jump would be from a 50-foot cliff, which is higher than the canyoneering in Kawasan Falls. All tourists are transported to Wonderfalls for the canyoneering activity. The meeting place will be at the office of your tour agency.

Take a Ceres Liner bus at Cebu South Bus bound for Bato via Barili. Get off at Wonderfalls Alegria Booking Office. Check the exact location on Google Maps. The fare is about 250 PHP (~5 USD). Travel time is 4 hours.

The hike to the falls takes about 30 minutes. The trail is your typical dirt trail, so it might be challenging to go there in the rainy season. You also want to avoid rainy days since the flowing water becomes muddy brown, hence fitting for swimming.

Take a taxi or jeepney to Talamban Grand Mall (13C, 62C, 62B) and get off at the mall. The jeep fare is 15-20 PHP (~0.5 USD) per person while the taxi fare is around 200 PHP (~4 USD). At Gaisano Grand Mall, look for a habal-habal who will take you to Barangay Budlaan Basketball Court (Google Maps link). The fare is 30 PHP (~0.5 USD) per person. From there, just ask for instructions on how to get to the falls or just follow the trail to Budlaan Falls. Check the exact location on Google Maps.
