The most convenient way to get to Bantayan Island is to charter a private car or van from Mactan Airport or any point in Cebu City to Hagnaya Port. The travel time will be cut down to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Then, catch the ferry to Bantayan Island.

Alternatively, there’s a turboprop plane flying from Mactan-Cebu Airport to Bantayan Island. However, the schedule is erratic.

Note that there’s another port in Kawit, Medellin, which is farther north from Hagnaya, that operates vessels to Santa Fe. This has become a good alternative after the massive 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Cebu that caused the Hagnaya Port’s wharf to submerge during high tides.
