A few days leading up to the festival, which happens on the<strong> 3rd Sunday of January<\/strong>, most hotels are fully booked. Booking flights and ferry trips to Cebu closer to the festival day can also get a little bit difficult too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>December <\/strong>is also another peak season in the Philippines in general. It\u2019s common for Filipinos from abroad, as well as those who live\/work in the city, to go back to their hometown to celebrate the holiday season. Typically, this phenomenon happens between <strong>December 15 and January 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to note also that Cebu is a jump-off point to other provinces in the Philippines, and that\u2019s why it\u2019s dubbed \u201cthe gateway to a thousand journeys. In the worst-case scenario, you might experience canceled trips due to unfavorable weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_weather_like_in_Cebu\"><\/span>What is the weather like in Cebu?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines has two seasons: rainy (tag-ulan) and summer (tag-init) seasons. However, the weather in the Philippines can be tricky and could throw a curveball on your travel plans no matter what.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, when it\u2019s rainy season, it doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s not sunny and hot anymore. In the same way, when it\u2019s summer season, it doesn\u2019t mean it doesn\u2019t rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Cebu, April is the driest month of the year. May is the warmest month with an average temperature of 26.8\u00b0C or 80.3\u00b0F. Meanwhile, January is the coldest, with an average temperature of 25.0\u00b0C or 77.0\u00b0F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to avoid the rainy season, October is the wettest month in Cebu. Summer in the Philippines usually begins in the later part of March until the end of May. This means these are the driest and hottest months of the year in the Philippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most websites would recommend months between December to May. I wouldn\u2019t necessarily object. However, I need to remind you that December is still pretty rainy and \u201cstormy.\u201d In fact, many of the most destructive typhoons in the Philippines happened in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>January to the first half of March is generally okay. But expect that there would still be rain here and there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driest and hottest don\u2019t mean it\u2019s always the best option.
