What to ride from Cebu City to Hagnaya Port?
You can either take a bus or charter a private plane to get to Bantayan Island. In March 2023, AirJuan started offering direct flights from Mactan Airport to Bantaya Island Airport. However, their scheduling seems to be unreliable, not to mention their website is constantly inaccessible. Or, you may charter a private vehicle to get to Hagnaya Port from Cebu City or Mactan Airport.
Take the 5-hour bus and ferry ride to Bantayan Island—it’s worth it! The bus terminal for Bantayan-bound buses is at Cebu North Bus Terminal (see map), near SM City Cebu.

Unfortunately, there is no direct ferry from Cebu City to Bantayan Island. You need to take the ferry from Hagnaya, San Remigio (3 hours away from Cebu City) or Kawit, Medellin (3.5 hours away from Cebu City) to Santa Fe, Bantayan Island. How many hours to travel from Cebu to Bantayan Island?
The total travel time from Cebu City to Bantayan Island is roughly 5 hours. The bus from Cebu City to Hagnaya Port may take 3-4 hours, depending on the traffic and your departure time. We highly recommend leaving early in the morning to get there fast. The ferry from Hagnaya Port to Santa Fe Port takes approximately 1 hour.
If you are coming from Mactan Airport, it may take an additional 30-60 minutes. Chartered vehicles are faster and more convenient since they don’t have stops like buses. You may book a private car with a driver to get you to Hagnaya Port.

On your return, if you are coming back straight to the airport, buses can drop you off at Pacific Mall and then take a taxi to the airport. You don’t need to get off at Cebu North Bus Terminal, which is farther from the airport, unless you want to take the MyBus to the airport. MyBus Terminal is right beside Cebu North Bus Terminal. Also, if South Cebu is your next stop (Moalboal, Badian, Oslob, etc.), you can get off at Cebu South Bus Terminal. Just tell the driver or conductor.
