The ferry ride from Tagbilaran City, Bohol to Dumaguete and vice versa takes about 2 hours. This is the fastest way available to get in between these two destinations. However, do take into account the waiting and loading and unloading time, so this trip could take a little longer than expected.

How much does it cost to go from Bohol to Dumaguete?

Getting from Bohol to Dumaguete costs 900 PHP (~16 USD) for tourist class and 1,400 PHP (~25 USD) for business class. Take into account the terminal fee, which is around 20-50 PHP (~0.5-1 USD), payable before boarding. Get your ticket in advance!

How do I get to Dumaguete from Bohol?

To get to Dumaguete from Bohol, take a tricycle to Tagbilaran City Tourist Port. The fare is 30 PHP (~0.5) if you are coming within the city.

If you are coming from Panglao Island, you may take the public jeep along the highway to Dao Terminal in Tagbilaran City. The fare is 50 PHP (~1 USD) per person and the travel time is approximately 1 hour. Alternatively, you can charter a tricycle to take you directly to the port. This is more comfortable but costs 200-500 PHP (~4-9 USD), depending on your haggling skills.

Do note that OceanJet’s office is located outside the port. You need to walk about a kilometer to get to the boarding gate after purchasing your ticket. A long line at their office is also expected since Tagbilaran Port is quite popular among locals. So it’s best to book your ticket in advance so you can proceed to the boarding gate.
