Oslob is a 4th class town famous for its whale shark watching and Sumilon Island. Located 120 kilometers southeast of Cebu, Oslob has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Cebu.

How to Get to Oslob from Cebu City

Option #1: By Bus

  1. Go to Cebu South Bus Terminal.
  2. Take a Ceres Liner bus bound for Bato via Oslob. Tell the driver to drop you off at the whale shark watching activity center or at your desired location. Fare is 200-250 PHP (~4-5 USD) for an aircon bus, depending on your drop-off point. Travel time is 3 hours.
  3. To get around town, take a habal-habal or tricycle. Fare is around 50-150 PHP (~1-3 USD).

Oslob Bus Schedule: Ceres Liner operates 24/7. Ceres Liner buses depart from Cebu South Bus Terminal every 30 minutes. Aircon buses travel faster and have limited stops compared to non-aircon buses.

Option #2: By Private Transfer

The most convenient way to get to any point in Oslob from Cebu City is through chartered vehicles. From Mactan Airport or any point in the city, you can directly ask a taxi driver if they take you to Oslob.

Sedan taxis carry up to 4 people with enough space for your luggage. This usually costs 3,500-4,500 PHP (~65-83 USD), depending on your haggling skills. This includes the driver and gas.

If you need a bigger vehicle, you can go to the V-Hire South Terminal to arrange a private transfer for you. Vans can accommodate up to 18 people. As of April 29, 2023, the V-hire South Terminal has moved from Junqiera St., Barangay Kamagayan to SM Seaside. Green and yellow buses are temporarily deployed at the old terminal to transfer commuters/passengers from the old to the new terminal.

Alternatively, you can book a private transfer to Oslob from Cebu City. They have options on which vehicle you want. Private transfers cost around 2,400 PHP (~45 USD).

How to Get to Oslob from Mactan Airport

Option #1: By Bus

  1. Take a taxi from the airport to Cebu South Bus Terminal. Fare is around 300 PHP (~6 USD). Travel time is 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic. Alternatively, you can take MyBus outside the airport gate to SM City Cebu for 50 PHP (~1 USD) and then take a taxi to Cebu South Bus Terminal for 150 PHP (~3 USD).

  1. On the highway, flag down a Bato-bound bus. Fare is 50 PHP (~1 USD). Travel time is 30 minutes.
  2. Get off at Bato Bus Terminal and take a Cebu City-bound bus. Tell the driver/conductor you are getting off at Moalboal Bus Stop. Fare is 150 PHP (~3 USD). Travel time is 2 hours.
  3. Take a habal-habal or tricycle to your hotel. Fare is 50 PHP (~1 USD) per person or 150 PHP (~3 USD) per entire habal-habal or tricycle. Travel time is 15 minutes.

How to Get to Oslob from Dumaguete

Option #1: Via Sibulan-Santander Route

  1. Take a multicab to Sibulan Port. Fare is 20 PHP (~0.5 USD) per person. Travel time is 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a habal-habal or tricycle. Fare is around 100 PHP (~2 USD) for the whole trip.
  2. Take a ferry from Sibulan Port to Liloan Port in Santander. You have 3 options: Cuadro Alas fastcraft (faster), pump boat (cheaper), and Maayo Shipping ferry. Fare is around 70 PHP (~1.5 USD). Travel time is 20-30 minutes.
  3. Outside the port, wait for a Cebu City-bound bus via Oslob. Tell the driver or conductor to drop you off at the whale shark watching activity center or any desired location. Fare is around 150 PHP (~3 USD). Travel time is 30 minutes.
  4. To get around town, take a habal-habal or tricycle. Fare is around 50-150 PHP (~1-3 USD).

Option #2: Via Tampi-Bato Route

  1. Take a bus from the main bus terminal to Maayo Shipping Port in Tampi. Fare is 30 PHP (~0.5 USD). Travel time is 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a multicab outside McDonald’s along Bishop Epifanio Surban Street or a tricycle to take you directly to Tampi Port.
  2. Take a ferry to Bato Port in Samboan. Fare is 70 PHP (~1.5 USD). Travel time is 20 minutes.
  3. Take a Cebu City-bound bus via Oslob outside Bato Port. Tell the driver or conductor to drop you off at Kawasan Falls or any desired location. Fare is around 150 PHP (~3 USD). Travel time is 2 hours.
  4. To get around town, take a habal-habal or tricycle. Fare is around 50-150 PHP (~1-3 USD).

How to Get to Oslob from Bohol

  1. Wait to be picked up by Apekop Travel, the tour company that operates a ferry between Oslob and Panglao Island. Pick-up is free. Alternatively, take a habal-habal or tricycle to Momo Beach in Panglao Island, Bohol.
  2. Take an outrigger boat through Apekop Trave to Oslob. Fare is 900 PHP (~17 USD). Travel time is 1.5 hours.
  3. You will land on a beach near Cuartel Ruins in Oslob. Take a habal-habal or tricycle to whale shark watching activity center or any desired location. Fare is 50-100 PHP (~1-2 USD).
