Are you a foodie who wants to get the best Cebu can offer in one place? Consider visiting Sugbu Mercado, Cebu’s first and biggest food market. But there’s more to this place than just food, and you’ll find out why.
Sugbu Mercado is a haven for foodies in Cebu City. It first opened in September 2015, and since then has constantly created a venue for up-and-coming food entrepreneurs, as well as for locals and international tourists to feast in.
When you’re here, you will literally find what you are craving for. Sugbu Mercado has several stalls serving a wide range of food. Are you looking for typical Filipino food, or perhaps dishes that are proudly Cebuano? You can find what suits your tastes here.
Sugbu Mercado also has stalls offering international cuisines, such as Japanese, Korean, Indian, Indonesian, and Thai, just to name a few. Specifically, some of the dishes served here are lechon (roasted pig), takoyaki, Vietnamese fresh spring rolls, okonomiyaki with noodles, and mee goreng.
For those looking to uplift their spirits, Sugbu Mercado has live bands on the weekends. They also host a wide array of events like Halloween and Christmas events, shows for your fur babies, arts and crafts exhibits, and Zumba sessions. Don’t forget to visit Sugbu Mercado if you’re flying to Cebu City!
How to Get to Sugbu Mercado
There are four Sugbu Mercado branches across Metro Cebu—IT Park, Business Park, SM Seaside, and Lapu-Lapu City. We highly recommend the IT Park branch as it’s the most vibrant of them all. IT Park is a CBD that has become popular among the youth and families.
To get here, the easiest way is to hail a taxi or book a Grab or Angkas with “Sugbu Mercado IT Park” as your destination.
You may also take a modern jeepney with codes 17B, 17C, or 17D and let the driver or conductor know to drop you off at Teleperformance IT Park and then walk to Sugbo Mercado. These jeepneys pass by Carbon, Colon, Jones, Fuente Osmeña, and Escario.
Best Time to Visit Sugbu Mercado
Sugbo Mercado gets crowded at night during dinner from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so there might not be enough tables. There are standing tables where you can stand and eat, or you can just eat in front of the stall. If you don’t mind the crowds, Sugbo Mercado hits different on weeknights.
Sugbu Mercado Entrance Fees
There are no entrance fees to Sugbu Mercado.

Where to Eat: Sugbo Mercado
Sugbo Mercado is a night food market that hosts live bands on weekends. It’s open from 4:00 PM to 12 midnight from Tuesday to Sunday. The prices at Sugbo Mercado vary from 80-500 PHP (~1.5-10 USD) per meal. They’ve got food, snacks, desserts, coffee, and alcoholic drinks. Here are our top picks:
✅ Kusina Guadalupe
They serve classic Cebuano grilled meats and seafood and we recommend the boneless lechon (roasted pig) and grilled tuna panga (jaw).
✅ Happy Dippings
They serve a variety of skewered seafood, meat, and veggie balls as well as boiled shabu-shabu style hot pot. This stall takes inspiration from the many street foods found all over Asia.
✅ Cribs
This stall offers scrumptious and unique Indonesian-Dutch cuisines and our favorite so far is the mee goreng paired with sate ayam.
✅ Seabu
Serves an array of fresh and affordable seafood that does not compromise quality or taste. Their cheesy scallops are a must-try!
✅ Moonsky & Sunny
Because there’s always room for dessert, this stall serves rich and creamy ice cream with witty pop culture names like ‘Say Cheesecake’ and ‘Dark Vader’.
